Shepherding the Journey

Foundation Builders is for mature Christians within the Gateway family who feel called to help others grow in their discipleship journey.

It is not about being perfect, having all the answers, or becoming a counsellor. It is about walking alongside people with humility, grace and spiritual maturity, helping them become rooted in truth, restored by grace and released into purpose.

 

What is Foundation Builders?

Foundation Builders equips Shepherds to walk alongside participants through the Foundations discipleship journey.

A Shepherd is someone who listens well, prays faithfully, encourages growth, points people back to Jesus and His Word, and helps truth become applied through relationship.

This is the relational support that sits alongside the monthly Foundations teaching sessions. Participants are not just receiving information. They are being helped to apply truth in real life.

Your training materials describe Foundations as a shepherded discipleship journey where participants receive monthly teaching and are supported by a Shepherd between sessions.

Foundation Builders could be for you if you:

• are already walking steadily with Jesus

• have a heart to help others grow

• can listen with wisdom and patience

• are willing to pray faithfully

• can encourage without taking over

• want to point people back to Jesus and Scripture

• are willing to learn how to support people safely and well

This is not about having every answer. It is about being present, prayerful, faithful and teachable.
