Welcome to our 'Communion Groups' Page

When Jesus introduced communion, He had so much more in mind than finding five minutes during our church service to partake of the elements of the Lord’s Supper. In fact, we read repeatedly of Him sitting down to partake of meals with people.

Why? Because Jesus wanted us to gather together as a spiritual family, to share a meal and to talk about faith and life. At Gateway, we believe that our church family is a gift that God has brought into our lives in order to develop relationships that will have a positive impact on our lives. Every week at Gateway, family members gather together to do just that.

We would like to warmly invite you to ‘BRING & SHARE’ and join in with one of these groups today.

OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF:

All of these communion groups are ‘BRING AND SHARE’. Whatever you have, whatever you can contribute will be wonderful. Please don’t ever allow financial situations to restrict you from joining with your church family in these moments. Like the early disciples, we can all give according to what we have.

Children are welcome at all of these communion groups. Some of these groups will have teenagers available to play with the kids; but the children will remain under the primary supervision of their parents.

Please feel free to come on the day or to contact either the church office or the communion group leader to ask any questions or to introduce yourself prior to attending.

AND FINALLY:

Don’t ever let these groups be the only place in which you spend quality time with your Gateway family. There is coffee time available before and after the Sunday service, and even better – you could invite someone over to your house!

So let’s make sure that we are all growing in our faith together.

Get Involved

There are five different groups that you can get involved with:

Second Monday: 60's Plus

Nigel and Mandy Marsh were both born in England and reside in Dudley. They lead the Pastoral Care Team at Gateway Christian Centre and have a heart to help people navigate through the more difficult seasons in their lives.

Second Sunday: General

Bosun and Tayo were both born in Ibadan, Nigeria; the second largest city in Africa. After relocating to the West Midlands, Bosun works as a Locum Consultant Radiologist for a number of NHS hospitals, and Tayo is a qualified accountant with Birmingham city council and owns the Bearwood Kumon Centre.

They have three teenaged children, Emmanuel, Sharon and Lois. Bosun and Tayo love people, and are often found in the church foyer checking up on people and encouraging them. Tayo has a passion to teach, and Bosun to help people and support Christian missions.

Time: 20 minutes after service close.

Location: Gateway Campus, Youth Zone.

Fourth Sunday: General

Laurence and Fiona were both born in Zimbabwe, but were educated at Birmingham City University and have made this area their home. They have two teenage children, Davina and Adrian.

Laurence and Fiona are passionate about people’s welfare. They share a desire to see the strengthening of communities through Christ, and firmly believe in the Acts 2 model of fellowship – that of breaking bread and praying together.

Time: 20 minutes after service close.
